How it Works

The SafeDesk ManagedPC platform enables the simple deployment, provisioning and administration of personal computing devices across a wide-range of networks. The ManagedPC does not require specific hardware or a specific operating system but rather acts as a platform that allows customers to tailor a solution to best meet their specific computing needs.

User Device Management in Action

Not only does the ManagedPC platform enable and simplify the delivery of full-featured computing devices to your end-users, it also provides for the delivery and management a broad range of Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings for adding layered service revenues to your business.

Product Description:

Authentication: Pluggable Authentication Module for LDAP, Radius, Active Directories, Card Scanners, Biometrics and more...

Profile Management: One server will scale to thousands of users; users can operate through a connectivity break without any loss of data

User Storage: Via the ManagedPC or the web, users may upload/download data to/from the cloud; users can access their data from any device anywhere in the world; integrates with your SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fiber.

Updates and Maintenance: Select which software is available on which devices; no wasted inventory — repurpose returned or relocated machines; integrates with standard distribution repositories.

AppStore: Users can purchase applications, services, even another operating system, and other products through the appstore; SafeDesk delivers them immediately through our delivery pipeline.

Installation: Clients come from factory with minimal install. At first boot it “calls home” to determine where it’s been shipped. The ManagedPC update system applies your branding and 'standard' applications to the machine. Our "Any machine to any location" order fullfillment simplifies deployment and lowers cost.

Reboot to Restore: The file system is read only, so rebooting will download latest image from server and fix vast majority of issues. The user or admin can initiate a wipe of the machine and a reinstall of the applications. If a machine is lost, stolen, or broken, the admin can send the user a new machine and immediately get going because all data is saved in the cloud eliminating any exposure of private data if lost or stolen.
